Lowcountry Web Works builds real, working websites for small businesses across the Lowcountry. No packages, no templates dressed up as custom work — just a real site, built from your real business, that you can see before you decide anything.
Most web design starts with a deposit and a questionnaire. This starts with a real, finished demo of your business's site, built and shown to you first — free, no obligation.
Using your real name, services, and reviews, I build a working, multi-page site for your business — on my own time, at no cost to you.
No pressure, no countdown timer. You see exactly what your customers would see, and decide if it's worth going live.
Your domain, your business, your site. I handle hosting and upkeep for a flat monthly rate you can cancel any time.
Every demo below started the same way — built first, shown second, no cost or commitment until a business says go. No stock photos, no filler copy.
Not every project here was for a paying client. These two are mine — built the same way, on my own time — and they're a big part of why I trust myself with your business's site too.
A memorial and operational history site for my own unit, the 5th Battalion, 20th Infantry Regiment. It documents four deployments and the soldiers we lost, built from firsthand accounts, official unit records, and submissions from other veterans. It's in soft launch, with new research and corrections added as more of the battalion finds it.
Visit the site →A free, community-powered directory that helps veteran families find providers who actually accept CHAMPVA insurance — a real gap I kept running into. It's a full web application, not a brochure site: built in React and deployed on its own domain.
Visit the site →A lot of businesses have a perfectly good website and still lose customers — because there's no Google Business Profile connected to it. That means when someone nearby searches your service on their phone, you don't show up on the map at all, and a competitor gets the call instead. I check for this for free, and fix it fast.
This works well on its own, or alongside a full site build — if you need both, ask about a bundled rate.
You own your domain and your site. I host it and keep it running for a flat monthly rate — cancel any time, and take your files with you.
Every project starts with a free demo before any payment changes hands — you're never buying a site sight-unseen. A simple written agreement covers the terms, ownership, and cancellation, no lawyer required to understand it.
Lowcountry Web Works is run by Jake — a Bluffton Township firefighter/driver-engineer and Army combat medic veteran who builds real websites for real local businesses on the side. No agency overhead, no outsourced templates — every site is built by hand, from the business's actual name, services, and reviews.
The idea is simple: a small business shouldn't have to gamble on a website before seeing it. So every project starts with a real, working demo — built first, paid for only if it's worth going live.
Tell me a little about your business and I'll take a free look — whether that means a demo of a full site, or just checking if you're missing from Google Maps. No obligation either way.
