Bluffton & the Lowcountry

We put your business on the map online — before you pay a cent.

Lowcountry Web Works builds real, working websites for small businesses across the Lowcountry. No packages, no templates dressed up as custom work — just a real site, built from your real business, that you can see before you decide anything.

How it works

You don't buy a site. You see it first.

Most web design starts with a deposit and a questionnaire. This starts with a real, finished demo of your business's site, built and shown to you first — free, no obligation.

01

I build your demo

Using your real name, services, and reviews, I build a working, multi-page site for your business — on my own time, at no cost to you.

02

You look it over

No pressure, no countdown timer. You see exactly what your customers would see, and decide if it's worth going live.

03

We launch it — you own it

Your domain, your business, your site. I handle hosting and upkeep for a flat monthly rate you can cancel any time.

Real Lowcountry businesses, before and after

Every demo below started the same way — built first, shown second, no cost or commitment until a business says go. No stock photos, no filler copy.

Demo online

Firefighter Movers

Before — a free WordPress.com page, no own domain, three thin pages, WordPress's own ads on it. After — a full multi-page demo in their own brand, built around their three straight years of "Bluffton's Best" awards — ready to go live on their own domain.

Eminent Pool Cleaning

Before — no website at all — just a Birdeye listing, while every competitor had a real site. After — a full demo built around their real 5.0★ reviews and service list, ready to go live on their own domain.

Quality Tree & Landscape

Before — no website — only showed up on Nextdoor, while a dozen competitors ranked ahead of them on Google. After — a demo built around 20 years in business and real 5-star reviews, ready to go live.

Beyond client work

Two sites I built because they mattered to me

Not every project here was for a paying client. These two are mine — built the same way, on my own time — and they're a big part of why I trust myself with your business's site too.

520infantry.com

5/20th Infantry Battalion History

A memorial and operational history site for my own unit, the 5th Battalion, 20th Infantry Regiment. It documents four deployments and the soldiers we lost, built from firsthand accounts, official unit records, and submissions from other veterans. It's in soft launch, with new research and corrections added as more of the battalion finds it.

champvafinder.org

CHAMPVA Finder

A free, community-powered directory that helps veteran families find providers who actually accept CHAMPVA insurance — a real gap I kept running into. It's a full web application, not a brochure site: built in React and deployed on its own domain.

A faster fix

Got a website but nobody can find you on Google Maps?

A lot of businesses have a perfectly good website and still lose customers — because there's no Google Business Profile connected to it. That means when someone nearby searches your service on their phone, you don't show up on the map at all, and a competitor gets the call instead. I check for this for free, and fix it fast.

Setup only

$199 one-time
  • Free check to confirm you're missing or hard to find
  • Claim/verify your Google Business Profile
  • Full buildout — categories, service areas, hours, photos, description
  • You keep full control going forward

This works well on its own, or alongside a full site build — if you need both, ask about a bundled rate.

Pricing

Straightforward, and yours to keep

You own your domain and your site. I host it and keep it running for a flat monthly rate — cancel any time, and take your files with you.

Spread it out

$150/month × 12
then $49/month after
  • Same build, same ownership terms
  • No large upfront payment
  • Rolls into standard hosting after year one
  • Good fit for newer or seasonal businesses

Every project starts with a free demo before any payment changes hands — you're never buying a site sight-unseen. A simple written agreement covers the terms, ownership, and cancellation, no lawyer required to understand it.

Who's building it

Built by a local, on nights and weekends.

Lowcountry Web Works is run by Jake — a Bluffton Township firefighter/driver-engineer and Army combat medic veteran who builds real websites for real local businesses on the side. No agency overhead, no outsourced templates — every site is built by hand, from the business's actual name, services, and reviews.

The idea is simple: a small business shouldn't have to gamble on a website before seeing it. So every project starts with a real, working demo — built first, paid for only if it's worth going live.
